Congratulations to OpenCities customer, the City of Lynnwood, whose Digital City Hall project, has won the City Government category in the Government Experience Awards. CDG17-GovExperience-750x503

Presented by the Center for Digital Government at the 4th annual award event, the awards recognizes the achievements and best practices of states, cities and counties that are radically improving the experience of government and pushing the boundaries of how citizen services are delivered.

In 2019, the City of Lynnwood partnered with OpenCities to build a fully accessible, mobile responsive website without custom code. Driven by the desire to better serve residents, businesses and visitors the Digital City Hall project was born to provide clear, concise and timely information and online services.

Powered by the OpenCities platform, the City of Lynnwood's new City website and Digital City Hall is built to transform paper-based and in-person processes into digital experiences. Community members can now access city services and information 24-hours a day from their home computer, tablet or mobile phone. The website now features a clean new look, simple search, and easy to navigate content, allowing users to easily discover information. The project has resulted in an increase in the number of page visits and a noticeable decrease in the volume of phone calls.

Additionally, the new website has enabled the city to easily and quickly share critical information related to the COVID-19 pandemic with the community.
